Our community services provide support for children, young people and families, enabling them to have happy, healthy lives. We assist in the security, care and support that is vital to children and young people’s development.
Children and families
Raising children can be tough and at times parenting challenges can seem overwhelming. We offer families a range of supports, parenting programs and referrals. Brighter Futures aims to reduce the rate of child protection reports and reduce the rate of children entering the child protection out of home care system. The majority of referrals (90%) come directly from FACS, with the remainder of referrals from other service providers or self referrals.
We service areas surrounding Casino, Urbenville, Bonalbo, Tabulam and Kyogle.
Housing and homelessness
We deliver a specialist support service for Aboriginal women who experience or are at risk of domestic violence. We also partner with NRSDC Connecting Home service who can assist individuals with housing support services. The neighbourhood centre can assist you to with finding or keeping housing
Support in times of crisis
We deliver support for people in urgent need. This may include basic material aid, electricity vouchers (EAPA), telephone vouchers (Telstra), financial counselling, tax help, referrals to other services, advice, information or just someone to talk to.
We deliver a range of community activities, events and social inclusion activities such as facilitation of the Casino community garden, volunteer opportunities, resources and information for the Casino community.
