Two months of planning has paid off!
When we decided a few short months ago that we would participate in the upcoming Casino Beef Week festival parade, we wanted to tailor our float to the festival theme “All around the world.” One of our staff’s children, a seven year old boy called Roy, came up with the idea of dressing up as astronauts and dancing around the planet Earth.
Little did he know how right that theme was for us. It mirrors our own values: that we are all united in a collective journey; that we represent people from all walks of life, and that together we can do extraordinary things. So we started making, papier maché space helmets and found a two metre inflatable planet Earth. We grabbed our colleagues, friends and clients, donned white jumpsuits, covered ourselves in glitter, put on our helmets and space walked through Casino CBD to the tune “Around the world” by Daft Punk.
The parade happened last Saturday, the 28th of May. We ended up with over thirty astronauts in our parade entry and, although some were not able to walk with us and joined us in a van, we all had an amazing time strutting our stuff and spreading our message to Casino.
Here are some pictures from the day.
We received some great feedback from the parade audience, with rapturous applause, cheers and whistling the whole way. After this last weekend, we really do love you Casino – thanks!
